So I was running Windows 7 and recently I noticed that when I turn my computer on, after the boot logo animation, there would be a black screen for quite some time until it goes to the welcome screen. Since then, I upgraded to Windows 8.1 and still see the issue. It does not, however, stop me from entering Windows, it just delays it, and it's annoying. I have tried defragging my disk and getting rid of junk files but that doesn't solve anything. I have a feeling it may be because of the new NVidia 335.23 drivers on this system since the system I'm talking about has a GTX 550 Ti. This wasn't happening before and I'm wondering if anyone knows what's going on.

If you think its the Nvidia driver, I would recommend sweeping it and getting an older driver maybe.

I'll try that

Tried it and didn't fix the problem. I think I just noticed that my computer actually restarts after the boot logo and when it starts back up it goes to the "Please Wait" screen on Windows 8.1. This is really weird and I would like to know what's going on.

After scouring the internet, I've figured out that it's my antivirus, Bidefender. It's a known issue and unfortunately there is no solution as of now. :(
