SATA hard drives can be inserted into a gaming PC and used as storage devices, sure. Like any hard drive, just format it with the partition manager in windows.

 

Although, if you randomly "found" some hard drives at your dad's place of work, make sure that these are actually OK for you to use. If you wipe the data off them, don't expect to get it back.

Draws 400 watts under max load, for reference.
