Windows Sonic for Headphones when using speakers

DSD27

When I activate Windows Sonic for Headphones, it gets permanently enabled, even after I remove the headphones from the and resume to using the speakers. Is it beneficial to have Sonic enabled with stereo speakers?

This forum used to have very quick answers. Or I'm just asking too complicated questions.

I do not believe it's beneficial to have Sonic enabled at all. But that's my 2 cents.

Because it's not good, or because you think virtual surround isn't worh it?

I've done some pretty extensive testing with sonic in CS:GO/RainbowSix: Siege and others like rocket league. I didn't notice any benefits and when it comes to most audio, I prefer to keep things as close to "standard" as possible. (No EQ etc...)

I can't say it's "worth it" or not since it's free 😛 It's also not bad per say, but for reasons stated above, I keep it off.

Maybe those games don't support it. I've read that Sonic audio only changes something when it finds content that enables it.

I do notice a difference in Assassin's Creed Valhalla. The positional audio is better with Sonic for headphones. My board comes with Sound Blaster Connect, Cienma 5 software, which has surround emulation, Windows Sonic is better.
