AM4 stock backplate with Pure Rock Slim

I have the same backplate (the image on the right) that came with amd motherboard gygagyte b450 wifi.

I am trying to upgrade the cpu cooler to bequiet  slim rock , but the backplate keeps falling off. Is it oh to double side tape the backplate to hold it in place?
