Issue with Raid driver on Blade Server PLEASE HELP***

Hello Everyone,

I recently acquired a Dell 2950 "blade" server. I have installed windows home server 2008 that dell says it supports...In order for me to install it I had to connect the hard drive to the onboard sata port instead of the front hot swap bay. When I went to Windows install it wouldn't recognize any of my drives I'm guessing because the Peci 5/i raid contoller needs a separate driver. So I connected the drive I wanted the OS on to the mobo and installed windows. After installing server 2008 and updating everything it still wouldn't notice the drives in the hotswap bay. So I went to dells website and got the drivers for the raid controller and tried to install them. But it said that the driver wasn't supported on this edition of windows. So I'm not sure what to do. I've gone through the bios on the raid controller but it didn't help. So any idea's what I could try next? Thanks

@mkessler9: Dell's site says it is only compatible for Windows Server 2003, which is why it would not be working.

Where did you see this? Last night their website said windows server 2008 and 2003

you should be able to find a driver for that card hopefully.  do you know what the card is?  it should give you some indication in the raid bios.

Well that sort of sucks.  put the 30 day demo of 2008 r2 on it then and see if that works.  you can then assess your options later or pick up another raid card.

I know they also support Linux, you could go that way also.
