Yes!  Don't even need the 4GB version.  If you turn all your settings to their max, your min FPS will dip down into the low 20's at time but that's minimum and not average.  Talking about intense games like Metro 2033 or Crysis 3.  I recommend the ASUS 1440p...excellent monitor with low latency and amazing colors.

I really would suggest the 4 gig version for 1440p.

games that use large amounts of vram like crysis 3 use about 1.7 - 2 gigs of ram at 1080p. double that and you get about 4 gigs of ram needed to power 1440p. (1440p is regarded as 2.5k / two and a half times the pixels to 1080p.

what If the most demanding game I play is Far cry 3?

 

Single R7970 with 3GB will do you best IMO when you consider the price.  For very little more you can get the MSI one for $400.00.
