Dead Motherboard

I think I determined that the motherboard is dead because when I have the cpu in and no graphics card or memory, it beeps, but when i put the memory in, it doesn't beep even with no graphics card and I know its a known good ram stick. So I'm wondering, what should I do with the computer. What can I do with the cpu as it is a i7 980x extreme edition

Clean the memory stick and the slot with alcohol / contact cleaner.

For system that old, one of the ram probably gone bad.

so you think that the ram/slots are the issue and not the motherboard

In my experience, usually a ram / slot cleaning fixed my old systems.

Have you tried plugging 1 ram at a time on different slots?
