Are you happy with the performance you're getting from your 2500k? If so I suggest you maybe wait until Maxwell because Sandy Bridge processors are still great for gaming and Haswell will most likely provide a 5 - 10 % increase in performance over Ivy Bridge which is only about 10% faster then the Sandy Bridge processors which overclock like the bees knees.

As for the SSD yea sure. SSDs are always a welcome addition to any build that doesn't have one, So go for the SSD. Might I suggest something like a 128/256GB Samsung 840 Pro?

Both seem like good upgrades if you're happy with CPU performance. With that budget you can get a fairly high capacity SSD so that would be a good option.

Unless your me cos I want to upgrade my MSI Z77A-GD65 to the gaming version just for the colour :P

Main PC: i7 3770k @ 4.2Ghz Corsair H100i V2 | MSI GD65-Z77A | NZXT Tempest 410 Elite | MSI 1080Ti Gaming | Corsair Vengeance 4x4GB @ 1600Mhz | 2x Samsung 850 EVO 250GB | Seagate 2TB | Corsair RM650x

Upgrade your motherboard and add a SSD if you are satisfied with your GPU performance right now. If you want to upgrade your gpu, I would get a HIS Radeon HD 7950 HIS IceQ X2.
