Asus K56CB maximum RAM capacity

Hello, can anyone help me find the solution to my problem. I want to upgrade my Asus K56CB to 16GB RAM, but Asus website says it can only take 8gb, while other services and AIDA64 tell me it can take 16GB. Need that extra RAM for heavy software. Thank you in advice.

The laptop has 2x SO-DIMM slots for DDR memory. I see no reason why it would not work with 16 GB of RAM. I can't seem to find the ASUS website for this model, the manual doesn't list RAM configurations.
