BIOS Flash not working

So I am trying to do a BIOS flash on my Asus B550 Plus MOBO. I've followed all the instructions, formatting the USB, renaming .CAP file, etc.  When I plugged in the USB into the bios port and pressed the button, the green light just doesn't stop flashing, been going for over an hour.  Sometimes it starts flashing quicker, then slows down but never stops flashing. Any advice? Can I just unplug the USB and try again or will that mess something up?
