Heya, everybody.

Long story short, The cooling in the case feels somewhat subpar right now. I'm using an NZXT H510i case right now and due to the THICC (yes, I said it) motherboard I'm using, I can no longer fit a fan on the top vent, which has left me in a 1 front/1 rear fan combination right now.

Long story short, I'd like some suggestions for decent quality RGB fans so I can turn this pupper into a decently cooled unicorn rave. Budget is roughly 120 USD and I was thinking of replacing the current 120mm fans in the case with 2 140mm fans up front and 1 120mm fan in the back. I'm about as dense as a brick when it comes to efficient cooling, so feel free to chime in and tell me if that layout would mess up the airflow in the case.

Thanks again!

I may be wrong, but it looks like your front fan is pushing and your rear fan is pushing. Use your front fan as intake and look at temperatures again.

For good RGB fans, I always like Corsair. The LL120 fans come in a pack and the iCue software is lovely. Make sure the fans are also in pull in front and push in the rear so you don't starve your parts from fresh air.

Yeah looks like it.

Turn the fan around for now, and maybe replace the fans later with a 3 pack of LL120 (One in the back, 2 in the Front)

Rear fan is pulling and front fan is pushing, already checked. Had the same feeling at first when assembling, but I verified that. I was thinking of going with NZXT Aer 2 RGB's so I could sync them up with the case and because it seems like they displace more air than the iCue's, other than that I was definitely eyeballing the Corsairs, especially granted that they are cheaper.

Is it pushing to the front or pulling from the front?

Front fan is pushing cold air into the case and the rear fan is pulling the hot air out. I may have my terms mixed up, but that is the general setup right now. The general problem is that my motherboard has 2 CPU 8 pins and one of them is now blocking the top vent, there's not much real estate for the front fans to be pulling air into the case, hence why I was thinking of doubling down on two 140mm fans up front.

Then it's clear 🙂

But still as suggested earlier and also by @Noah0302, the Corsair LL120 will suit your needs well.

I really am eyeing those Corsairs, honestly. Just wondering whether they'll work with the NZXT together. I reckon I'll just have to get seperate software for them?

Also, rather stupid question, but wont this sort of a fan setup accelerate the dust buildup in case? Not a big problem, I tend to clean my case every 2 to 4 weeks, anyhow. Just curious.

More intake and airflow will always bring in more dust. I don't think the H510i has a seperate dust filter in front of the fans, but it has fairly restricted airflow for sure and more fans will help. If you already clean your case often, there's nothing to worry about. Just make sure the vents stay open 🙂

The LL120 fans in the 3-pack come with a hub with an internal USB header, so then you can control the fans via Corsair iCue software.

Big thanks, bud! Looks like I may just swing that way. Haven't had too many pleasant memories with Corsair in the past, but I think I'll swing that way this time.

An other option would be the Lian Li Uni 120 3-pack which also includes a controller, but they are very rare right now so finding them will be hard 🙂

Lian Li 3 pack is actually in stock here, half the price of Corsair 3 pack or NZXT packs. 68 USD.
