Hey there,

I'm currently planning a new desktop build (ik - worst time ever) and now a bit confuzzled.

The general outline is: AMD Ryzen 7 5800x, RTX 3080, X570 motherboard.

The RAM will be 32GB, considering G.Skills Trident Z Neo.
- 4x 8GB vs. 2x 16GB shouldn't make that much of a difference, right (only on the upgradeability)?

- Is there any difference between the different G.Skill RAM product lines (Trident Z, Royal, etc.) besides the design?

- From what you find on the internet, 3600MHz seems to be the sweet spot with current gen Ryzen processors.

And finally my main headache: the RAM timings... i know what the numbers mean, but how much of a difference does it make?

e.g. on the G.Skill Trident Z Neo, the range is from 14-14-14-34 to 18-22-22-42

Which would you consider the best bang for the buck/sweet spot on those timings?

All the best, Alex.

(I'm new here, so hmu if I did sth stupid 😉
