Posted March 12, 2021 CPU: i5 6600K OC 4.4 1.3 core voltage (stock was 3.5) Mobo: MSI Z270 gaming plus (Note: pins were bent in maitenance, managed to bent back in place) GPU: MSI GTX 1060 6GB Gaming X RAM: Ripjaws V 2666MHz (XMP profiles enabled) So I get 100% usage while playing VALORANT, which makes my discord lag and I can't talk or hear ppl while lagging. I suspect my GPU is bottlenecking my CPU. But I can't think of anything more. And I know VAL uses so much cpu, but if there's any way around it any help is welcome. Posted March 12, 2021 Opposite situation... CPU is bottlenecking the GPU. Check the GPU utilization percentage to confirm. Provided you're SURE the damage to the pins was fixed correctly, you can try increasing graphics settings a little to shift more workload to the GPU and see if that helps. It's counter-intuitive, but sometimes can work. Can you verify with Task Manager that the game is what's using 100 percent CPU and not some other background applicaiton/process? EDIT: I now realize you didn't expressly say the 100 percent usage was CPU, but I assumed based on the rest of your post. Please confirm if that's the case. I have a 144hz monitor going bellow that is unbearable, tried locking at 144, when frames dropped my game stutters, and yes discord issues still remain, I just guess my pc is trying to pass to the beyond? I might go dor AMD Ryzen 5 2600 and mobo the Gigabyte B450 Aorus Elite v2. hope that's a good combo for the 3yo 1060.
