Cant enable SLI

ScottWood

When I go to enable SLI it will do so, then toggle back instantly.

Both cards are good so is the bridge, drivers have been reinstalled and its a fresh copy of widows, only thing that has changed is the CPU and motherboard, both support SLI with latest BIOS.

Specs of your current system and specs of your old system?
Which cards do you want to run in SLI?

Old was Threadripper 1950X with Zenith Xtream motherboard.

New is Ryzen 7 5800X with Asrock Taichi 570X

The cards are 2 MSI SeaHawk X 1080TI

So when you hit "Enable SLI" it simply disables it instantly?

Dumb question: are you using the top two slots? The bottom one doesn't have enough bandwidth for SLI.

If you check GPU-Z, do both cards read as their proper PCIe x16/x8?

Check to make sure one isn't running at like x4 or something strange.

If i read that right does it mean the slots are at 8X? isnt that right for SLI?

Hmm, yeah. You're fine.

Try running DDU to completely remove the driver and re-install it (or the previous driver version)

That was my first step D:

I had a thought, I didnt take into account pcie lanes on the CPU i think i may be maxing this one out.

Eh, this started out as a 3900X and had 2x 2080s and both ran find at 8X, so I doubt it.

You could try installing something like folding@home and see if it addresses both GPUs.

Just going to update this for the sake of it.

Got it working, Kinda mad how dumb the fix was.

Install the drivers then reboot, then installed the drivers again.

Saw it on another forum.... weird but works
