Hey guys,

A couple of days ago i tried updating my motherboard's bios when it shut off...

When powering it back up again it says that it has detected bios recovery mode, and that i need to plug in a usb with a .CAP file and press the reset button. upon doing this it doesn't output any video and the qled of my motherboard stays on solid white.

So far I've tried the recovery with and without any other storage and 1 stick of ram. Not a cpu problem (that's what i thought at first, but when installing a new one it was the same thing). I've also tried reseating the gpu in different slots.

Specs:

cpu: Ryzen 7 3800x with stock cooler installed

gpu: gt 710 (temp, waiting for my 3060 ti)

mb: ROG strix B450-F Gaming (REV 1.01)

memory: 2x16GB G.SKILL Aegis running at 3200MHz (in slots 1 & 3, with 1 on the edge of the motherboard)

psu: Cooler master MWE gold 750 full modular V2

ssd: 970 evo 1tb

hdd: seagate 4tb ST4000DM004

Thanks in advance,

Bodhi

Hey,

Thanks for the quick response.

I've done this on an old 8gb stick. I've formatted it to FAT32 with a small partition and tried it on all usb ports (front io and mobo io). When resetting the pc the screen doesn't turn back on and the qled on the mobo stays solid white,
