ECC Memory in Ryzen Laptops

With 2021 releasing a plethora of new Ryzen gaming laptops - and Ryzen supporting ECC at the hardware level - could we get ECC memory working properly in one? Would we be limited by the mobo? Has anyone attempted it yet?

Great thread... We need this, but laptop makers would rather fail than make money... Just copy Apple meanwhile customers are leaving Apple cuz they're pissed. Hopefully frame.work will get it together.

OMG the cost of a Xeon based ecc laptop.

I really want to keep buying AMD but will any laptop motherboards do ecc?

This is April 2021and all I can find on Zen 3 Ryzen suggests the new chips support it but only non-ecc Gamers get a laptop.

I design functions on the binary and unary level. Ecc memory is not perfect as cosmic rays and other high energy particles can hit memory and flip bits but it is better than nothing.

I am replying to add voice to the lack of service to hobbyist programmers like myself by AMD and Motherboard manufactures.

Dell Xeon mobile workstations offer a solution but the boutique style sales by a huge corporation and prices that make Apple a only slightly higher expense really have me angry that Ryzen does ecc but we have no "personal workstation laptop" options.

 

So what gives? My budget is $3,000 to $4,000 and I can't buy AMD

Dell Xeon looks to be 8 cores 16 threads but each item to add like M.2 is priced way way high. No breaks there.
