GPU afterburner beginner question

I used msi afterburner, does the clock speed stay low before going to its clock speed in game? and does the power limit always stay at 100? and 0 on memory clock?

Clock speed does lower when not in game to save power. Power limit can be adjusted, but by default it will stay at 100 and stay there without moving. Memory clock being at 0 is a bit weirder, as it should be low when not in game, but I don't believe at 0. It should go up to (depending on GPU) of about 5000-8000MHz.

Thanks, well memory clock does stay low also, i was only confused with the one like power limit, clock speed, memory clock. but i guess it is for overclocking?

Adjusting any one of these is for overclocking. Are you using integrated graphics or a dedicated card, as that can change how the memory is read and might be why it stays low.

got a dedicated one, but not planning on OC as the my card is 1050 ti OC

Weird. It should have the memory at something other than 0mhz, as shown in this screenshot

Oh, that's the voltage of the card. That still shouldn't be 0, it is for me since I'm on a laptop rn where i's doing nothing, also some laptops have issues reading it, like how mine doesn't read the temperature.

is that so? well while we are on the topic of gpu do you think 1 year of not cleaning can make more dusk on gpu? just asking

I'd recommend you clean every 3 months if you're not in a dusty area or every month if you are. Then again, I've never seen dust kill a card. I buy and sell systems on the side, and the worst one I saw was a system that the guy said he had never cleaned, and it was a 5 year old system. It took me all day to clean, and I went through an entire can of compressed air, but it came out clean enough. Both of the GPUs worked just fine before and after, the temps just went down a bit after removing all the dust. On modern hardware, with all of its fail safes in place, the most that will happen is it won't live quite as long (but the lifespan of most components is about 10 years, so by the time it fails it's not worth anything anyway, even not cleaning it takes a year off it's life), and maybe a fan will die. That can be easily fixed with a 120mm fan and some rubber bands. I'd still avoid letting the card get too dirty, trying to clean it ever so often, but it's not to the point where if you're buying a new one that just because it's a little dirty you wouldn't buy it as long as it's a good price.
