970 or 970 FX

Hi,

 

My friend has a FX6300 atm and a 970 motherboard. He is going to upgrade to a FX8350. Does he need a FX motherboard and what is the difference?

There's no 970FX.

 

You can run any FX CPU in a 9xx chipset board :)

What 970 board is he using? Some boards don't support the FX8350 that well...
