Hey guys,

Recently tried to restart my PC, was met with a black screen with a flashing underscore.

What fixed it was using a fresh windows USB, getting into command prompt and doing bootrec /rebuildbcd. It found my windows install and PC is working again.

But, why did it work? What corrupted/ deleted my BCD in the first place? Is there something I can do to prevent this from happening again? Boot drive is a Samsung 970 Evo Plus 1TB, just over a year old. No way its failing already? Also this windows install is only a week old.
