Afternoon all!

I have been troubleshooting issues with my pc for a few days and have had no luck.  Computer just turned off whilst I was playing a game and hasnt displayed a picture since

My PC specs at the time of the fault was

Cpu: AMD 2700

Ram: Corsair 8gbx2 vengeance

GPU: NVIDEA 3070

MOBO: STRIX B450 Gaming

Psu corsair tx750m

I had two monitors, one using display port and the other using hdmi

When I power on the motherboard lights come on and the fans spin on both the CPU and in the case. No beeps but I don't have an internal speaker.

First thing I tried was removing the graphics card and using only onboard graphics. No change.

Second, I replaced the MOBO with a TUF B450 and tried again using the original ram and CPU.

Next, I tried replacing the cpu so I grabbed an AMD 5600X and replaced that on the new board.

Then I tried new ram so I got some 8gbx2 corsair vengeance Pro.

Finally I have replaced the 6 week old power supply with an identical model.

None of this has resolved the issue. I now have 2 full systems (minus a second GPU) neither of which will boot and I am completely out of ideas.

Original parts set up as a test bench

New system which still won't post

Now the only thing I can think of that is left is that my system died from a fault somewhere and I also got a DOA component to fix it.

Any advice would be appreciated

Ryan

I would say “what about storage” since it seems to be the only bit that hasn’t been changed out.  Storage shouldn’t make this kind of problem though.  Will it post?

Not a pro, not even very good.  I’m just old and have time currently.  Assuming I know a lot about computers can be a mistake.

Life is like a bowl of chocolates: there are all these little crinkly paper cups everywhere.

I don't have an external POST card and without a display I have no idea if it gets that far.

let’s just go with “no” then. 2 motherboards both listing known good, 2 GPUs which are able to run on other systems.  Memory tests as known good.  Corrupt bios or something?

I've removed the CMOS battery and replaced it but I don't know how else id deal with a corrupt bios and it seems odd that it would affect both boards?

You’ve got two different problems, 1 problem that is specific to a shared component, or a single component that created when it was attached to either board.
