So recently my GPU has been crashing, even at idle.

My 2 screens lose signal, and the fans in the GPU stops spinning.

This happens randomly and i cannot figure out what causes it.

I have a Vega 56 and the max temp i have seen is 65.

I have tried; cleaning it, reseating it, clean installation of drivers and setting an aggressive fan curve.

One time it crashede i Saw glimpses of and error message saying "driver crash", but the screen shut down before i could read it.

My specs are:

Windows 10 64bit

Msi tomahawk b350 motherboard

Ryzen 1600, with stock cooler

16gb ram at 1333hz (2/4 slots used)

500gb SSD sata

2tb HDD

Radeon Vega 56 8gb

650 watt PSU

Hope it can be fixed, as I do not have the means for a new GPU

Try the gpu in an other system, if it works, good, it's an other component at fault. If it doesn't, I hope it's still under warranty.

Does not work at all in the other pc I tried. No warranty, bought it second hand about 2 years ago.

Have you tried a different gpu in your pc? If possible, give that a try. If not, the vega might be dead.

Have you tried disabling the device in Device Manager and trying to reflash the firmware for the GPU?

I'm not that tech savy, and from what I can see from forums it says do not flash the bios if you have Hynix ram on the GPU (which I have), only if you have Samsung. I cannot find a bios version that has firmware for hynix ram.
