Random BSOD's - memory issues? ssd issues?

Ever since upgrading to Windows 10 a year ago my computer has been giving me random BSODs. Sometimes it will be a memory issue, sometimes storage, it never seems to be the same. I also started to have issues with drive response (I'd save a file and the computer would freeze for up to 10 seconds while saving/renaming/moving). Thinking it was a failing SSD I purchased a new one and re-installed Windows. Now after 3 months the new SSD is starting to exhibit the same issues. Occasionally when the computer crashes there will be no BSOD, but on booting I will get a BIOS message about resetting to defaults due to failed overclocking (I'm not doing any overclocking, just set my ram to the XMP profile).

If anyone has any ideas what could be causing this or what my next trouble shooting steps should be it would be much appreciated! This computer has served me well and I'm loathe to replace the CPU/RAM/MOBO if I don't need to.

Right now I'm leaning towards a failing motherboard?

System:

Gigabyte Z97X SOC

Intel i7 4790k

G Skill F3-2400C10-4GTX (4x 4gb DDR3 2400mhz sticks for 16gb total)

Samsung 840 Evo 250gb

Samsung 860 Evo 500gb

AMD Firepro W4300

Steps taken to date:

Re-seat processor

Run Memtest (no errors found)

Try with 1,2 and 4 sticks of ram

Replace SSD

Re-install Windows

That is most likely your XMP profile.. For some annoying reason faulty RAMs are getting more and more common these days. I had this problem too but not as "severe" as yours, I tried turning off XMP and it fixed all my errors and issues i had, so i just left it off.

And i also have a G.Skill RAM set...

That was my thought initially as well, but I've run it for a few months with XMP off and the issues still seem to appear.

The problem is that the RAM checks out with with Memtest, so I don't even know where to begin.

Seeing as this system is old it's going to be expensive to start swapping components (ram, mobo, etc).

Old stuff... The PSU might be tired and current variation would be enough to give you random BSOD
