Hi, the last PC I built was probably in 2013. My now 15yr old son is wanting to move  some of his gaming from Xbox One to PC. My question is, could I just add a better PCIE2.0 graphics card and maybe some more/different RAM to our existing rig, or better to just start over with a new modern build? He says he wants to play Destiny 2 and possibly Ark, as well as other smaller games like Among Us and Minecraft.

I am in the US, and can budget about $500 US in upgrades to existing rig. New build budget needs to stay at or under $1,500 US.
