Memory upgrade suggestion

Hi folks!
I'll start by listing my specs:
CPU: Ryzen 7 2700X (not being OCed)

RAM: HyperX Fury Black 16GB 2666 (2x8GB sticks)

GPU: MSI GeForce RTX 2070 ARMOR 8G
Board: Asus TUF GAMING B450M-PLUS

I'm feeling my RAM isn't cutting it anymore, lately. Ideally, I'd like to swap it out completely for some 3600 MHz (cuz Ryzen, after all), but my limited budget isn't exactly helpful in that regard, so I'm thinking about simply doubling on what I have. The question is, since my CPU is still killing anything I'm doing on the PC, how much of a difference is higher frequency RAM going to be for me, both now and 2-3 years into the future? I'll appreciate any thoughts on this since I failed to find pretty much anything on this topic online. Thanks!

Your CPU likely won't even run 3600mt/s ram. If you don't think you need an upgrade you likely don't. Memory is able to make a massive uplift to performance depending on the workload, but only typically if you are not GPU limited.
