Buying A New Ram

So I’m thinking about purchasing a new ram but my cpu has a limit 2400Mhz so will purchasing a ram with a speed of 3200Mhz be a waste of money?

It's all so cheap right now, who cares? No, it won't hurt anything, it will just run at the lower speed.

No it will just downclock your ram speed to ur cpu supported speed. At least you can use it for later on if u upgrade ur cpu/mobo.

Are you buying ddr3 or ddr4? No point going faster than your CPU can handle if you're still on ddr3 and not going to upgrade the CPU (depending on price).

I’m buying a ddr4 for my laptop

It has an Intel i7-7700HQ@2.80Ghz

If the faster ram is the same price, go for it. Otherwise, you're (probably) wasting your money.

Won't make a difference I  performance, unless timings are way better.
