so im very confused as to what is going on i just bought this system from someone so its completely possible i got ripped off i mean it was a great deal. anyways i can get it booted up with the on board graphics but when i try to boot for the gtx 1070 nothing. it has a 1000 watt power supply so it should be enough but its also about a 12 year old power supply from what i can tell. so idk if its something to do with the power supply or the card. it spins up the fans for a sec and then nothing. and sadly i dont have another computer that i can test it in

Are you putting the GPU in topmost slot? Might be that the GPU you got was a dud if it does nothing in the topmost slot and, if it's connected properly.

Weirdly MSI says that the board is optimized for crypto mining, which may or may not contribute to the problem.
