This issue isn't so much just having support for an antivirus, it's that windows itself isn't very well made and has alot of holes in it. And when microsoft releases a patch for 7/8 they won't have for xp and that means malware authors can just look at the patch and have a clear way of compromising the system. And a 1 1/2 page thread isnt THAT long.

I've tried to be nice. But just stop. Don't post on here again. Not a single person asked for your opinion on whether I SHOULD use XP. I am well aware of the problems. That doesn't change the fact that it is the only option. And before you run your mouth saying "just have them take a loan" shut the hell up. Don't post it. And don't post on this thread again. I've made it more than clear that XP isn't my choice, its a necessity, despite the security holes.

When somebody asks a specific thing, don't derail the whole topic by giving you (rather unwanted) opinion on something that is blatantly obvious. Just don't post.

Yes we did get off topic, but you're kind of just being rude. You asked for advice, these are the best solutions we can come up with, take it or leave it. I don't see a reason for you to be so rude about a few posts.

I... Did. NOT ask for advice. Or even what you think a solution would be. Not even once. You gave it anyways instead of ever once answering the question. You very clearly never read the original post.

I asked if a newly bought windows xp disk would work with old product keys, my only concern was that maybe the previous owners wrote it down and re-used (they did for once of the PCs not the other)

As a matter of fact look at the very 3rd post on this whole thread... It was me telling you that what you answered was entirely unrelated to the issue.

Yeah it'll work.

We did go over that... And when you post on a forum you're asking for advice. Please don't be angry at people that are donating their time to explain what is wrong with what you're attempting to try.

Let's make this clear. I never asked for your advice on that. I asked one specific question. It was answered. Then you kept attempting to argue over whether XP should be used or not. You have been nothing but rude. Don't talk like I don't know how the forums work, I've been on here a TON.

Bit of advice to you:

If somebody asks one question, either answer that or don't. If you feel like you need to give your opinion, give it ONCE. Don't borderline spam a thread with it despite the fact that it was made very clear that there IS ONLY ONE OPTION HERE.
