Well I removed my CPU to clean it and install my new cooler, but it had a lot of thermal paste on it(PC was build by a tech store, never going there again) When I removed the cpu some of the thermal paste got "inside" the motherboard socket. its a b450.

The thermal paste applied it's artic silver MX4 ( metal-free and not electrically conductive ).
Is it safe to use like this? Or should I put some isopropyl alcohol and let it dry before using? (I have 99,5% here)

Can I put it directly into the socket?

its fine to use such alcohol, if you take it on something you are going to pick the paste up with. (paper, cloth etc)

since I guess each hole is by themselves, so long it doesn't block your pins or so much its overflowing the hole.

better to clean the most you can, don't really pour liquid in there, just like I said above.

also was it the store who did this?

this being one of the reasons not to use liquid metal.

I managed to clean most of it using the 99,5 alcohol with a VERY soft toothbrush and going really slow in the process.

Well now I will wait until tomorrow to try to test it.

Is there a possibily of damaged to my CPU? or it simply won't boot if there is any dmg to the motherboard?

I have a old ryzen somewhere in my stuff... I could try the bot with it to prevent dmg to my current cpu.
