green screen effect on you tube

Does any one have a clue to what this is? I'm not sure if its related to adblocking and the new youtube way adds are or maybe a vid card/overlay setting.

it happens almost every video I view, pops up for 1-2 secs then disappears. and only seems to happen on YT not other video players. but it only started in the last few weeks.

any help would be great, cause its very annoying lol

Video encoding bug your adblockers could be the issue when they block an add and the stream gets messed up. I use firefox + ublock origin and don't have those issues but I don't know what you use. If you use a chromium based browser (especially chrome) then this can be expected as google does not want you to block ads of theirs and it does often act strange with adblockers or lets ads through.

yes, on chrome using Adblock and Adblock Plus. but it's never done this befor, hence I'm not sure why it's doing it now. 

 

edit:  just tried turning them off and reloading page a few times, it still happens. even after i watch adds.
