Hello guys,

So i made a mobo and CPU swap and i am sure everything is plugged in correctly.

I am able to boot into the bios whithout my graphic card plugged in (i cant boot in windows yet but i will figure this out at some point).

The problem is i get a constant black screen using my Nvidia 1080 or 770. Nothing shows up on the screen.
The difference is that the fans of the 770 are spinning but not the fans of the 1080.

Do you have any idea how to boot up the bios with a graphic card plugged in and do you think my 650w power supply isnt enough after all?

thanks for your answers.

Corsair are a decent brand and 650W should be good for most builds, which psu is it? It is also possible that a driver is an issue, try booting into safe mode and DDUing. Its also possible that the cpu and mobo swap are causing the issue, if DDUing doesnt work I would suggest a new windows installation.

I am reinstalling windows on another hard drive right now to try and boot 1st on the onboard graphics card.
My "old" windows intallation wont boot up. For what i understand it might be a problem with mbr and gpt partition.

if i manage to boot up windows, i will try to install the nvidia 1080 driver and see if there is changes.

Oh boy, and i tought swapping the hardware would be the hard part, how wrong i was.
After a clean windows install the computer boot up.

I managed to make the GPU works by plugging in the hdmi cable, so i could install the drivers. And finally the displayport cable works.

The weird thing is that my GPU fans wont turn on unless i open msi afterburner. (i havent try to launch a game yet).

Thanks as always for your quick answers. I will probably come back at some point, i doubt that was the last of my issues -_-

Have a nice day
