Hello guys,

I am trying to update the BIOS on my 12 year old motherboard so I went on to the lenovo website, got the files, put them on a USB drive, rebooted my PC and I got the message 'Missing operating system'. I saw that because the motherboard was so old, the BIOS only supported Windows XP and 7 and was last updated in 2014. I have tried using Windows Backwards Compatibility feature on the files but it still doesn't work. I don't want to buy a new motherboard because I will also have to replace the CPU and RAM which will cost a lot of money. (The motherboard was from a ThinkCentre M81 Desktop - Type 5049 and the latest BIOS is called 9hjy58usa and I currently have 9HKT54A)

Does anybody know how I can fix this problem?
