I made a post around a month ago about getting a processor to work in my computer, I found out that it wasn't compatible so I sent it back. I did my research and bought a AMD Phenom II X6 1055t, I got the right TDP compatibility one. I have a foxconn 2aa9 motherboard. Side note this is not my main pc. Anyways when I put it in and tried to start it, the fans start in the computer, it sounds like its on, but it doesn't show video and the power button doesn't light up. Please help, for I thought this was compatible.

According to

that CPU is definitely supported, are you using the integrated graphics?

Are you getting any beeps on boot to indicate a boot error?

Been a while since I played with older hardware so my next step would to try a discreet graphics card but as to what would work that's a damn good question something like a GForce GT710 perhaps?

With an older board such as this the CMOS battery may well be beyond it's useful life, nice call.

Thank you. I remember his first thread a little bit.

I believe this is an OEM pull from an HP machine. I cannot find anything about a bios update, would have to DL the HP software with the old cpu and see if he can update the bios through windows if at all possible (I doubt it without the appropriate operating system and hp software).

I did a quick google on the motherboard as I was not familiar with it and there were several results referring to bios updates as recent as 2019 so maybe an avenue to explore

I don't know how to update a bios but I could try. I did replace the cmos battery a few months ago if that helps.

There's a GTX 650 in there. I really don't know how to go about working with the bios and the cmos battery should be fine as I replaced it like 2 months ago.
