Inconsistency drawing back from progressing?

Hey guys,

I was just wondering if any kind of inconsistency of frames and lag will draw someone back from progressing in their game?

I currently use Geforce Now to play my games whilst I wait to get a 3060ti.

I have pretty fast internet, but I still get some lag when playing, so is worse than others. Sometimes it looks like it's running 144p.

I feel like, the lag and framedrops is stopping me improving at Rocket League.

Do you think this is true, will I be better when I have a powerful GPU that can run Rocket League?

Probably

I would never even consider playing a competitive game like RL on a streaming service.

an anecdote:

when i don't have stutter and graphical issues i've placed 7th globally on some stuff in beat saber

when my machine has been playing up and stuttering i play like crap because of the input lag and associated missed hits that comes with the stuttering

a smooth experience, not only a steady framerate but steady frame-times, allows you to play at the peak of your ability. After that it's up to you to git gud

Interesting. Cool thanks. I have noticed great improvement from PS4 to Geforce Now however
