VPN does not work and when i turn it on it turns off the internet. It does not matter if i am using wifi or lan. There is also some DNS error in chrome when i search something will VPN is turned on.

Tunnel bear or proton vpn and i am activating it from the vpn's own ui

I dont have any idea of DNS settings

In case you have used tunnel bear, whenever i try to turn it on a notification pops up saying "the bear is having difficulty making connection" or something like that

Make sure in your VPN's settings there isn't a kill switch that's active.

 

Also try setting your DNS manually. Control Panel > Network and Internet > Network and Sharing Center > Change adapter settings. Right-click the network connection you want to configure and select “Properties”. This option must be changed separately for each connection you want to change it for. Select “Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCIP/IPv4)” in the list and click “Properties”. Select “Use the following DNS server addresses, enter the addresses of the DNS servers you want to use, and click “OK”. As for what DNS server to use, you can always try Cloudflare's DNS which is 1.1.1.1
