Hi,

I was wondering if I can buy Non-ECC memory sticks and out it in my motherboard that supports ECC memory?

The Motherboard is this: https://rog.asus.com/motherboards/rog-strix/rog-strix-b550-f-gaming-wi-fi-model/spec/

The CPU is this: Ryzen 5 5600x

Thanks.

According to the page there is this gem:

ECC Memory (ECC mode) support varies by CPU

Does the Ryzen support ECC? If so, then you can put ECC on the board, as both the CPU and the mobo support it.

What the board is saying (or the maker of said board) is both types are supported, depending on what the CPU has to say about it.

In other words, non-ECC is fine for you.

NOTE: I no longer frequent this site. If you really need help, PM/DM me and my e.mail will alert me.
