I7-3770 non k upgrade?

Hey there, I'm getting ready for Cyberpunk 2077 I've already upgraded my GPU from a 970 to a used 1070 and I'm thinking about doing the same for my CPU. I've also got 8GB of DDR3 ram, and I kind of don't want to buy two whole new sticks to extend the life span of my CPU so I'm just thinking about upgrading my whole rig

The problem is that I'm on a budget, I've got two CPU's on my mind the I5-9400F and the i5-10400F they are both under 200€ the I5-9400F costs around 135 euros and the 10400F around 150, and with a new motherboard and DDR4 ram I think my budget will be fine. Would any of those 2 be considered an upgrade? I know I have an upgradable path to a I7 later down the years, but would any of those be worth the money spent we are talking about 250 euros total (I've already got a GPU and a PSU)

So should I wait for newer budget Intel CPU's maybe DDR5 or should I make the jump?

(I'm doing some video editing and photoshop as a hobby, but nothing much I've been okay with my i7-3770)

NOTE: I see AMD's offerings, I was considering a AMD Ryzen 5 2600X or 3600 but I've heard that they are both not a great upgrade path, the 3600 might be but it's price spiked up recently on my country (around 210 euros) so even though AM4 motherboards tend to be cheaper I'm sadly not that impressed

2ND Note: I kind of also want to upgrade because my SSD is not reaching it's potential my motherboard supports SATA 3, 3gbs instead of 6 and I'll probably buy a Motherboard with a M.2 drive

I found two videos comparing the CPU's

Thank you in advance!

PC Specs

I7-3770

GTX 1070

The 10400F and R5 3600 are -roughly- equal. The 10400F being just a bit slower in most tasks but the same core and thread count. They will be huge upgrades to your current 3770. If the R5 3600 is 210 EUR and 10400F 150 EUR, it doesn't make much sense (to me) buying the AMD platform. I wouldn't suggest the 9400F, as it is a 6 core 6 thread cpu, unlike the 10400F which has hyper threading and for a 15 EUR difference, 10400F is a way better chip.

I see, I was really considering the R5 3600 but I don't really edit as a job or something.

Now I'll probably go for the 10400F myself however the cheapest 1200 motherboard with a M.2 slot costs like 71 EUR, I don't know if I'll "cheap" out to the I5-9400F

Thank you for your help though!
