I need some of your help guys. A friend of mine needs 3 new pc's for her Business, mainly used for rendering and modeling with Fstorm and 3dsmax.

She lives in italy and needs this to be done by professionals and has to invoiced.

I've had a look at the offer they gave her from one of the places she asked and i'm not so sure it's the best way to go.

Each pc needs to have 3 3090's and she wants water cooling, i've been trying to convince her to go with air cooling since the PC's will be running 24/7.

I attached the offer.

Would be nice to get some advice on what is better suited for her needs.

Thank you in advance

PS if you need a translation of the offer feel free to let me know.

X299 and i9 processors are a really bad buy. The CPU performance of Ryzen is a lot faster, but for your needs in regards to lots of PCIe lanes, a Threadripper CPU is just better. Faster cores, more cores, more PCIe lanes, it's just a much better system for professionals bordering on the enterprise space.

also, I see "3090 trinity"

are you sure she needs a triple graphics card setup, or just one in each system? The Zotac "Trinity" is a model of card.

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

Primary PC:

i7 8086k - EVGA Z370 Classified K - G.Skill Trident Z RGB - WD SN750 - Jedi Order Titan Xp - Hyper 212 Black (with RGB Riing flair) - EVGA G3 650W - dual booting Windows 11 and Fedora Linux - Black and green theme, Razer brainwashed me.

Draws 400 watts under max load, for reference.

3 ... what???

I think for this she should turn to someone like commino

https://comino.com/shop

they have a dedicated "render" work station. (they do use 2070's though so watch out for that)

maybe something like this could also work (it is marketed as "deep learning" capable) https://grando.ai/choose-a-gpu-machine-for-ai-deep-learning/#grando-rm

PC specs:

Ryzen 9 3900X overclocked to 4.3-4.4 GHz

Corsair H100i platinum

32 GB Trident Z RGB 3200 MHz 14-14-14-34

RTX 2060

MSI MPG X570 Gaming Edge wifi

NZXT H510

Samsung 860 EVO 500GB

2 TB WD hard drive

Corsair RM 750 Watt

ASUS ROG PG248Q

Razer Ornata Chroma

Razer Firefly

Razer Deathadder 2013

Logitech G935 Wireless

Have you got any suggestions for something air cooled?

why so adamant on air cooling? they aren't being equipped with your everyday AIO. these are custom loops. LTT has already demonstrated how good they are at it.

Quite sure she wants 9 of those 3090's

edit:

nevermind the invoice indeed says 9 cards

I still think the threadripper CPU is worth the investment

but

the invoice doesn't say that does it?

haha dont worry i know that they want. just saying that 3090's are in such short supply.

(thought true that pc manufacturers probably have some stock)

I just want to give her a couple of different options, and she doesn't want something to mount on a rack.

It definetly does, im speaking with her as we chat here.

if she can even get 9 cards, that's a surprise, due to current availability.

air cooling with that many cards snuggled up next to each other might present quite the challenge. If the graphics cards are being water cooled, that might be the way to go. Was that the plan, or did she only intend to get a water cooled CPU?

The plan was to have everything water cooled with wuick connect fittings for easier maintenance

for air cooling the CPU you could certainly go with a noctua NH-D15 or Dark Rock Pro 4, perhaps a scythe fuma Rev B. Those are some very large air coolers up to the task.

Do you know of any company in europe that knows what their doing and can suggest what's best for my friend? The budget is not really important as long as she gets the best out of it.

I don't know of any european companies but I don't see anything wrong with the invoice that she got from this company

The case is not a good choice. A quieter case like a fractal Design Define 7 or beQuiet Dark Base Pro Rev 2 without glass would make more sense.

Currently AMD cpu are more cost effective and offer higher performance. Something like a 16-core 5950X.

If the machines will be running near full load 24x7, a custom liquid cooling loop would be best. Otherwise one might as well use air. It tends to be quieter than aio and is much more reliable.

The ssd should be a 980 Pro version for much better endurance and slightly better performance. I would also suggest all ssd storage. Faster, quieter, and more reliable than hdd.

80+ ratings certify electrical efficiency. Not quality.
