MODEM ROUTER HELP! ( Buying help)

Hi Guys,

So I need a new Modem/router for my house and housemates to use. We are one of the lucky few to be able to get the NBN (Fiber) in Australia and we need a really good solution. Double story house that is quite large with 5 people using it. AC Wireless would be preferable. Hopefully somewhere down the track I'll run Ethernet throughout the house but at the beginning we'll all have to use (Sucky) wireless. Im pretty tech savvy but have basically zero knowledge when it comes to choosing a router.

Any ideas? Cheers

I'd recommend to use one of the top-notch Netgears (R7000 or R6300) or something just as powerful from ASUS (RT-AC66U, for example). Both have decent range, dual networks, all Gbit ports and 802.11ac compatibility. But there's one crucial fact: 5 GHz networks are much faster than 2.4 GHz, but have a smaller range. Also, theoretically 5GHz networks have much less chance to pick up interference, but to be honest, I've never experienced one even on my 2.4.

Any unknown button should be pressed even number of times.
