Hi experts!

I bought a new M.2 2TB NVMe drive and want to clone my C drive and Windows 10 install to it. Basically, I want to boot up from my new NVMe, but I'm running into some issues. Can you help me out? What am I missing or doing wrong?

Here's what I've done.

Step 1: Installed M.2 NVMe

That was straightforward and easy.

Step 2: Use Samsung Migration Tool to clone my drive

Both the source and target drives are Samsung. Once cloning is complete my PC shuts down automatically. I power on my PC and that's where I get lost.

The Problem

When I power on my PC and load into Windows, the system can't see the drive. In the screen below there is no 2TB icon. (The F: drive is a 3TB external HDD)

I see the following when I go into Disk Management.

  • Disk 2 (the 2TB target disk) says "Offline - because it has a signature collision with another disk that is online."
  • And it doesn't appear that the Windows partition from drive C (Disk 1) was cloned onto Disk 2 (see screen below)

What am I doing wrong and how do I go about fixing it?

I appreciate any help you can provide!
