Sim in 4g router

Hey there. I'm looking to buy a 4g sim card and put it in this https://www.amazon.co.uk/300Mbps-Unlocked-Powerful-Non-Detachable-Vodafone/dp/B07YCGMS6L/ref=mp_s_a_1_9?dchild=1&keywords=sim+router&qid=1605041062&sr=8-9

But the sim I want to buy has calls and text with it as well, the company also calls it a mobile sim. I'm pretty sure theres no such thing as a "mobile sim" and this sim should work in the router, but is there any reason why it wouldn't work with this router or so.

I just want to make sure before I make any purchases, dont want to waste money.

As long as there's a data plan that you can purchase with the SIM card, it should be fine. Read the conditions of use from the SIM provider to ensure you stay within the terms of the contract (e.g. monthly limits, speeds, etc.) and that your area is covered by the cellular service provider.

Don't they call cell phones "mobiles" in the UK? SIM cards were originally for cell phone use.

As long as you're good with the points mentioned initially, I don't see why not. Keep in mind that using cellular data for home internet is not the most reliable, but if it's the only thing available in remote locations or as a temporary solution it should be fine. Just ensure that you activate the SIM card on a real phone before transferring to the CPE.
