So,

I'm looking at replacing my current headset (Logitech G933) with a decent pair of headphones + a standalone microphone. Does anyone have any suggestions for some fairly nice (not exactly audiophile but decent) headphones that are comfortable to wear with glasses? My current headset pinches them to my head a bit too tightly so I've been using my computer without my glasses but recently I've noticed I need them more and more.

Also any suggestions for a decent desk mic would be great, I'm not gonna be streaming much (just a for fun F1 league I do at the weekend) so it's more just for discord etc.

Thanks for any help! ❤️

I dont know if you are interested in another Logitech headset but I have had the Logitech G Pro X for about a year and have worn them for many hours with my glasses on and never had any issues.

I also have the Razer Seiren X Mic thats works well once you have messed around with the audio settings.

SPEC LIST:

CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 2600x w/ AMD Wraith Stock Cooler

MOTHERBOARD: Asus ROG Strix B-450F

RAM: Corsair Vengeance Pro RGB 32gb 3200mhz (2x16gb)

GPU: Nvidia RTX 2080 Super FE

PSU: Corsair 750x 80plus Gold

FANS: Dual Corsair LL Series LL140mm Dual Light Loop RGB

MONITORS: BenQ ZOWIE XL2411P 24 Inch FHD LED 144Hz (DP)
Lenovo - G25-10 24.5" LED FHD 144HZ Monitor (HDMI)

PATIENCE: NOT CURRENTLY INSTALLED

P.S: STILL REALLY WANTING TO FIND SOMEONE WHO CAN CARRY ME TO GRAND CHAMPION IN ROCKET LEAGUE :)

P.P.S: I NO LONGER NEED TO BE CARRIED TO GRAND CHAMPION AS I HAVE MADE IT ON MY OWN 😁

I don't mind the brand, I've always had a fair enough of logitech gear so I don't hate them or anything. I was just looking at avoiding "gaming" headsets and looking for something with a more balanced sound profile.

I don't mind messing around with the sound settings but do you know if that's mono directional? I ask because I'd like to have a desk mic that also lets me use speakers without picking them, up too much if at all (not even sure that's possible)

I know that alot of people usually have no problems with Sennheiser for just pure headsets in that case. I think a nice pair will most likely be my next go to in the future.

As far as I've been able to notice the mic doesn't really pick up anything from behind it i.e. clicky keyboard or mouse clicks but I haven't really tested the limit of it like having my speakers on too.

Brilliant thank you. I'll have a look, I was thinking about Sennheisers, specifically looking at the HD 560S, but wasn't sure if reference headphones we're a bit too flat for what I'm looking for. Although admittedly I don't know that much about Audio so I could be chatting complete bollocks.

I mean, as long as it doesn't pick up mechanical keyboard behind it at stuff, it means I can at least have my speakers on low for it to work

I like my samson sr850's. Keep in mind they are reference headphones so they are meant to output the sound as it is supposed to be so you will not get that over saturated bass which is something I like a lot but others could miss. They are basically what audiophiles would want but on like a really really good budget of 40$. Plenty of reviews out there of it. Also has the bonus of having nice soft pads and my partner doesn't complain about it when using them at all and likes them a lot and he wears glasses.

Yeah I'm not hyped on oversaturated base, especially now where I'm doing a lot of my lectures online I don't really need anything super basey I'd rather hear speech fully etc etc

I now noticed I got 2 sentences mixed in eachother but what I meant is the sr850 basically just outputs the sound as it's supposed to be without the oversaturated gamer base in headsets in gaming headsets :P.

You'd probably like them a lot. Do keep in mind they are open back so they leak noise but that is intentional because that gives a better and more natural soundspace.

Yeah leaking noise isn't an issue and honestly I'd probably prefer open backed to get some air into my ears as well as I can get headaches for wearing headphones for too long.
