Hi LTT comunity,

My friend picked up a desktop second hand with no GPU and bought a GTX660 to go with it. The 660 he got works well on my desktop. I plug it in his system and the motherboard won't recognize the gpu.

At first i thought it was a broken PCI-E slot. I take the GTX1060 out of my system and plug it in his motherboard and it fires up with no issues at all.

I tried cleaning the pins on the 660, clearing CMOS on his motherboard, changing ram slots... nothing worked.

Can someone help me figure out this problem?

My pc specs:

MSI Z170A gaming M5

i5-6400

Zotac GTX1060 mini

8gb ram

530w Thermaltake PSU

My friend's pc specs

Foxconn N15235 ver1.3

i5-2500

8gb ram

530w Thermaltake PSU (same as mine)
