Hi guys,

Just planning for a new build in the next few months.

Budget (including currency): up to £1,000 additional spend

Country: UK

Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: CS:GO, COD - Warzone, Euro truck simulator 2, Dead by daylight, Forza Horizon, and probably cyberpunk

Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): Apart from a few games, although my monitor is 144Hz, I tend to hover around 60-100fps, so ideally 144fps+ to capitalise on this

My current build is:

Intel I7-3770 CPU
CoolerMaster Hyper EVO212 CPU fan
ASUS 1060 STRIX 6GB GPU
16GB DDR3 1600Mhz G.SKILL RIPJAWS RAM
64GB SAMSUNG EVO830 SSD (OS)
250GB SAMSUNG EVO860 SSD (Games)
1 TB Seagate HDD (Everything else)
Bitfenix Nova window case

Monitor:

Samsung C27HG70 144Hz, 1Ms, 27" curved

Peripherals:

Logitech G613 keyboard

Logitech G703 mouse

Steelseries arctis 7 headset

The majority of gaming performance comes from the GPU, so really should be looking here to upgrade, but conscious that my cpu is still a 3rd gen (was hoping to capitalise on upgrading to a 10th gen to remain on the new socket - rather than buying 7/8/9th gen and then having to buy a whole new mobo again in the future). Further to this, also unsure as to whether or not I should purchase a 20xx GPU given the 30xx release.

Also, a fairly pricey upgrade required given I need a cpu, mobo, RAM.

Trying to stick to Intel rather than AMD just due to stability pros.

Also considering a NVME M.2 on the new build - but will this really give me anything over my current setup where the OS and most games are already on SSDs?

Thanks

Joe

(I´ll be using € as its easier for me to check prices just convert later i guess) Assuming you could sell cpu ram motherboard for at least 200€, that would come up to something like 1200€, My choices would be to build now if you dont want to wait for a possible ryzen 5600,

CPU: ryzen 5 3600- 200€ https://www.pcdiga.com/processador-amd-ryzen-5-3600-hexa-core-3-6ghz-c-turbo-4-2ghz-36mb-sktam4

Motherboard- msi tomahawk wifi -220€ https://www.pcdiga.com/motherboard-atx-msi-mag-x570-tomahawk-wifi

Ram- 32gb 3600mhz gskill trident z- 180€ https://www.pcdiga.com/memoria-ram-g-skill-trident-z-32gb-2x16gb-ddr4-3600mhz-cl17-cinza-52675

GPU- I would advise waiting for a rtx 3070, or a possible amd equivalent , -530€ https://www.pcdiga.com/placa-grafica-zotac-gaming-geforce-rtx-3070-8gb-gddr6-twin-edge

SSD- 2tb crucial mx500- 230€ https://www.pcdiga.com/ssd-2-5-crucial-mx500-2tb-3d-tlc-sata

this would total out at around 1360€, but since you are talking about pounds if you convert that it comes to about 1226£ Id say that would be a nice upgrade

CPU: Amd fx 8120 3.9ghz...Motherboard: Asus m5a97 evo R:2.0...RAM: 8gb 1600 kingston hyperx blu...GPU: XFX R9 280x ...CASE: Nzxt h440...

HDD: Kingston adata ssd 500 gigs, wd blue 500gb...PSU: Corsair gs700...Monitors: Asus vk222h Cooler: Noctua nh-d14...Keyboard:coolermaster masterkeys m...Mouse: logitech g300...Headphones: Logitech g430
