Soooo..

Has anyone been getting crashes in CoD a lot that started about 5-7 days ago?

My cod does crash from time to time but the past week has been terrible. I can crash in the lobby, as someone joins the lobby, as the host starts the game, in game.. Sometimes I can get 2,3 or even 4 games in with no crash and then BAM. crash.

The odd thing about this crash is that the game freezes for a moment and then an error comes up something like 0x00000014483117a. Same every time for the most part. Some times its a dev error of some sort. But then the game is still working fine behind the error box and the game will load into a match fine but I cant do anything but click ok on the error and the game will close.

After some extensive diagnostics I am 90% sure it is the game.

I do not have issues in other games for 1. I have tried older drivers all the way back to last year, I have tried other GPU's.. removed OC's... the list goes on. Even re-installed Windows.

Starting to pull my hair out now :(

I've had a few crashes recently, I've stopped using "Experimental Driver" in GeForce Experience and they've gone.

Hard delete your driver from driver manager and totally reinstall. hopefully this will sort everything out.

Other thing to do is "Verify your COD WZ Cache" in Battle.net - It's not unheard of having a rogue file now and again.

  • 5 weeks later...

I have now nailed this down to the Texture Detail option.

If I set it to Normal the game runs fine. Set it to High the game crashes. Some times its immediate other times I can get a game or 2 in before the crash.

I have been playing the past 2/3 weeks with it on Normal with no crashes at all.

I wonder why this setting is causing the crash.
