Solutions to pre-programm a keyboard

Hi, everyone!

 

So recently I discovered the magic that are macro keys and wanted to use them during work. Unfortunately, we are not allowed to have any kind of this software on our work laptops and the 5 built in macro keys on my old keyboard just aren't enough(and I'm using a mac).

 

I wanted to know, are there any software or perhaps even hardware solutions that I could use to pre-programm a regular usb keyboard in advance, so I could just plug it in my work laptop afterwards and use it with the macros I set?

 

 

Hopefully someone could have an answer for this.

Get a custom that runs QMK firmware. 

 

Or get one that has onboard memory. IDK about big brand keyboards, but my Logitech mouse can save all it's settings onboard so I don't need the software. So maybe someone has a keyboard like that.
