Optical Drive

I guess an optical drive is considered a storage device.... Anyways I found an old Asus X550CA laptop lying around the closet and tried out the optical drive with a bunch of old games but didn't seem to read, the computer recognized it in windows explorer, and the driver. Sometimes it would scan the disc but other times it won't.... I found nothing to solve this problem on the internet, but maybe there's dust inside of it?

A lot of newer optical drives just aren't too reliable. You can try GENTLY cleaning it and see if that helps.
