Mouse replacement suggestion

Go to solution Solved by Yune_Faded,

Thank you Oswin and Godospartan for your recommendations. I had already done a bit of looking around myself prior to posting and was considering a G600 or G604 as you both was suggesting i just wanted to make sure i hadn't forgotten any brands like how i almost forgot corsair in my first look around. I think i am going with the G604 as i want to declutter my desk a bit and as Godospartan said could i have serval layers of profiles which if set up properly would be enough for my needs at the moment and if i need more further down the line can i always pick up a g600 or hope that they updated it so a wireless alternative exists

TL:DR, i want a mouse with 12 side buttons that is not a razer due to issues encountering issues in my products from them lately. More details as of what i want and my uses for it is in paragraph two

Hey, so i am in the market of an mouse upgrade but is a bit lost of what to get. Previous mousse i been using was a mouse with a 12 button side panel which was great in my excessive playing of strategy games like StarCraft. After that broke did i decided to get myself a razer naga trinity as it was razers offering with 12 side buttons and i already had a headset and keyboard in the ecosystem. This first one several me great having no issues over the several years i had it until it got lost then i moved. I did decide to buy a replacement and it failed within two months having the lower third of the buttons randomly die which i luckily got replaced due to included purchase warranty from my retailer (law requires some basic warranty there i am from) and now my second one has encountered the same issue about 6 months later which in my opinion simply isn't acceptable so i decided to look elsewhere but i am having troubles finding one with so many buttons.

The reason i want that many buttons is not just only for gaming but also for cad and programing reasons as i use that space for several macros to quickly switch tools or run commands like eclipse's auto formating and quick replacement of object names etc. Even if my ideal mouse would have 12 buttons can i settle for as low as 8 or maybe 6 depending on the other features. A plus would be wireless and lightweight mouse there i value the wireless aspect than lightweight aspect. Light control and decent software where i can make macros are very important for me but that is something I can look more into myself. Another plus would be if it is from a brand there i can have a ecosystem of all my peripherals controlled in the same software to make changing around and syncing things like lights easier.

Thanks for reading my probably rambling mess of a post and for any suggestions :)

a good alternative would be the logitech G600, you should feel right at home coming from a naga trinity.

a wireless alternative would be the logitech G604, still not lightweight (though i dont recall any lightweight mice to have atleast side 6 buttons anyway), its a bit pricier than the G600 though

As a user of BOTH the G600 and G604, i can say they hold up in most situations. both are good mice, though the 600 feels way more like a heavyweigfht champ and the 604 has a MUCH better sensor.

I use the 600 for any game with LOADS of favorite profiles or buttons that are for actions that are bound permanently away from WASD, and i use the 604 for everything else. with 5 on board memory profiles, you can have the 604 with it's 15 programmable buttons (6 thumb buttons, 2 additional buttons next to the index finger's left click, the left and right clickers can be reprogrammed too, and the scroll wheel's 5 different usages; up and down, both side scroll clicks, and even the full click down) but the 600 has a full 20 with a third finger click to the right of the main right click, so if you need WAY more buttons the g600 is a VERY nice addition. Hell, the 600 i refuse to live without mostly cause i love that third clicker but thats just me.

All in all, both Logitech options will do you good with build quality and a very deep reprogrammable sets of buttons. GHub has a lot of deep features to it, however it is not that user friendly, and can be frustrating on even great days. I basically loaded on board profiles (600 has 3, 604 has 5) with on board memory profile switching, and removed GHub when i was sure my mice were set and ready to go with EVERY macro intact. And they are intact, and no software BS with the onboard memory fully set up. however, if you ever want to redo your macros, you WILL need to get the software again. so be mindful.

There ARE alturnatives that have gotten good reviews however, so here's two i found that could do you proud. however the software might be iffy because i cannot vouch for it, though the functionality seem solid:

Corsair's option: https://www.amazon.com/CORSAIR-Scimitar-Pro-RGB-Programmable/dp/B01MU3DZYN/ref=sr_1_4?dchild=1&keywords=MMO+gaming+mouse&qid=1601945512&sr=8-4

Redragon's option: https://www.amazon.com/Redragon-Wireless-Programmable-Buttons-Battery/dp/B088B3ZM76/ref=sr_1_10?dchild=1&keywords=MMO+gaming+mouse&qid=1601945512&sr=8-10

The redragon has a fully wired option somewhere, but this will work either wireless or wired with a type-C cable, so it's not too bad an option. and many will swear by Corsair even since the older days. So any option is considerable for your needs.

It'll be tough with software bloat, but again the Logitech mice can easily have their software ditched the moment your sure you have all macros set  and will never again touch the macro settings. i am unsure if onboard memory is a thing with redragon or corsair. thats my 20 bucks of thoughts, take it as you see fit ^_^ and remember to just go with your gut and enjoy your experience no matter what you get
