Strange power-on delay

I have a new desktop computer which is exhibiting a strange problem.

 

When pressing the power button, nothing at all happens for around 5 seconds, it is as the button had not been pressed. After a 5 second delay the power light and fans abruptly come on and the computer boots up normally.

 

Sometimes it powers up normally, with the power light and fans responding the instance the power button is pressed, but I can find no pattern to when this happens.

 

Replacing the PSU did not resolve the problem, so I am assuming it is something to do with the motherboard, which is an ASUS B550-PLUS TUF GAMING.

 

Anyone have any ideas what could be causing this?
