Hello! It's my first time posting here.

I'd like to buy a RTX 3090 but the only way I can fit that GPU in my case is with a riser cable.

I'm not sure If I'll lose FPS because of that because this GPU is PCIe 4.0 and also my motherboard.

Linus uses a riser cable PCIe 3.0 compatible on his last video like nothing.

I can't find a riser cable compatible with PCIe 4.0 that has good quality (this one has really bad reviews).

Will I lose FPS in case I use a riser cable PCIe 3.0 using this one?

Thanks,

I am planning on getting a 3080 and vertically mounting it, and have run into the same issue. There really aren't any true PCIE 4.0 cables available yet from what I can see. The LinkUp cables are a half solution that support PCIE 4.0 x8 but not x16.

This one I saw is x14 even with PCIe 4.0 but I can only read bad reviews https://www.amazon.com/LINKUP-RX5700XT-Twin-axial-Vertical-Compatible/dp/B0898S49H4/ref=sr_1_1_sspa?crid=3UBO1BWY397E8&dchild=1&keywords=riser+cable+pci-e+4.0+x16&qid=1601419378&sprefix=riser+cable%2Caps%2C231&sr=8-1-spons&psc=1&spLa=ZW5jcnlwdGVkUXVhbGlmaWVyPUFWV1YzRTVJMUdNU1YmZW5jcnlwdGVkSWQ9QTA4Mjk2ODMxU0ZHU1k0OENWSk5RJmVuY3J5cHRlZEFkSWQ9QTAwODYzNDQzR0U2STlXVk1YSEZZJndpZGdldE5hbWU9c3BfYXRmJmFjdGlvbj1jbGlja1JlZGlyZWN0JmRvTm90TG9nQ2xpY2s9dHJ1ZQ==

For gaming there's no difference at 4K and minimal difference at 1080p with a 3080, and presumably similar with a 3090. Unless you're planning on using the card for certain profession workloads, get a normal 3.0 riser and forget about it.

I bought the 4.0 one just to test it and in case it's not working correctly, I'll buy the Corsair 3.0 one
