I owned the Ryzen version of the laptop you're looking at. For the first three weeks of use, I loved it. I thought it was the perfect balance of power and price. Just over three weeks the backlight went out, suddenly and without warning. Sent it to HP for repair - three additional weeks later, they tell me they aren't going to give it back to me because the engineers want to figure out why my backlight failed. They said it could be indicative of a problem with the entire lineup and are currently mailing me a check for what I paid for the device.

Long story short, be VERY wary of that laptop.

That said, the price you're quoted seems rather high, as the Intel version where I live can be had for about $200 less right now. But assuming you don't have the same issue I had, the laptop itself was great and a jack of all trades. So good luck!

Well that one is practically identical to the one I had, except I had a 1660Ti but everything else was the same. And like I said in my previous post, if it wasn't for the backlight issue the laptop itself was stellar; it stayed cool, played all my games easily, and seemed all around great for the price. I think I paid like $1100 for mine, but it was a sale so honestly at $1300 it's not a terrible price. If you can avoid the issue I had I'd say you'd be very happy with it. What kinds of things are you going to need it for?

Backlight of the display, snapped off one day while watching Youtube. Craziest thing really, something like that doesn't usually fail within three weeks haha. Graphic design? Well I think it should do you pretty well, I think it's got fairly accurate colors as the panel is LG so it was pretty good in my opinion. I'm also color deficient so take any comments on accurate color with a grain of salt :P
